A Louis Vuitton Classic

Updated: Apr 13, 2020

The Neverfull totes have been around since 2007 and are one of Louis Vuitton’s best selling bags to date. They come in three different sizes; PM, MM, and GM which are essentially a small, medium and large option. LV offers them in three different canvas leathers and various epi leathers that are either permanent or seasonal.

The Neverfulls are often seen carried as a school, work, or diaper bag because they carry quite a lot. In my opinion, this hand bag is oversaturated on the streets, but there’s a reason why. It is the perfect everyday bag for day to day activities and is something that you can get a lot of wear out of.

The three canvas leathers are Monogram, Damier Ebene, and Damier Azur but there are pros and cons to each print that will entirely change your perspective on the bag. I own this bag in the classic Monogram print. I find that the print better suits my skin tone and personality compared to the Damier Ebene print which is darker and more dramatic. The downside to the Monogram and Damier Azur print are the vachetta trims and handles. Louis Vuitton’s vachetta leather is made from untreated cowhide leather which darkens overtime. When vachetta leather starts to darken, it is called patina. The light leather will darken into a honey color if it’s well taken care of.

This makes the Damier Ebene the most carefree print out the three. The leather trim and handles are made with treated leather so you don't need to worry about patina. The downside to treated leather is that it is not as soft as non-treated leather allowing the handles to be stiffer and not as comfortable on the shoulders. There are ups and downs to each print, but I believe a Neverfull is a staple in any handbag lovers collection.
